Yo-Ji Japanese Restaurant Location: Weston-super-Mare When we first moved down to the west country the one thing we really missed was being able to eat Japanese cuisine. In London you are spoilt for choice with a good selection of Japanese restaurants spread all over the city.
So we were really pleased to find Yo-Ji tucked away in Weston super Mare of all places. Weston is not really known for its fine dining, so this place is a real step up.
Each time we eat out at Yo-Ji we are welcome by the ever friendly Bobby who makes a point of remembering your name. The service is always fantastic, and even when they are packed they will make an effort to find a space for you. The menu covers all the bases with dishes for the die hard Japanese food fan, and easier going noodle and chicken dishes for the casual dinner. If you’re not sure what to have they have a dish called Toko Bitsu which has a little bit of everything - maki, sushi, tempura, breaded beef on skewer, chicken teriyaki – all served with green salad and fried rice. Their Tempura Soba soup (brown noodle soup with deep fried prawns) is one of my favourite dishes, and tastes exactly as it does it Japan. I can highly recommend that you try this. Yo-ji has a very nice website with and up to date menu, so go check it out. And if you are in the area it is worth a visit. And make sure you say 'Hi' to Bobby. |
